Guerrero Arnis De Mano

Arnis, also known as Kali and Eskrima, is an indigenous Filipino Martial Art that comprises of Panandata (weaponry), Panuntukan (empty hands), Pagbuno (grappling and locking), Panandyakan (kicking) and Paghahanda (training and conditioning).  While "guerrero" is the Spanish word for "warrior".

Through out the Philippine history, Arnis or Kali has been utilized as defense of self, family, clan and the motherland. Arnis has been exhibited during the Battle of Mactan, Philippine Revolution against the Spaniards, and Philippine Guerilla resistance during Japanese occupation of the Philippines among others.

Initially learned using weapons, Arnis is both an armed and unarmed fighting system with only effective and efficient techniques being passed through from one generation to another.

Guerrero Arnis de Mano (GADM) is the Arnis, Kali, Eskrima system that is founded by Guro Guerrero.  What sets Guerrero Arnis de Mano apart is it's Multi-Style System, Multi-Weapon System and Multi-range System referred to as "the tripartite"

While others can be considered as systems base on their fighting range (eg. Long range systems) or the way they handle weapons (eg. slash systems, witik systems, abanico systems), Guerrero Arnis de Mano is "counter system" utilizing different styles, range and weapon as counter to different styles, range and weapons.

The tripartite concept is built into the training syllabus that is used by each student as he goes along to learn the art of Arnis, Kali, Eskrima.  The syllabus is progressive, building from one skill set to the other.

Arnis, Kali, Eskrima Arsenal

Balaraw (Dagger)
Tactical knife techniques in Arnis simulates the use of one short weapon such as Balaraw (dagger), kutsilyo (knife), Balisong (butterfly knife), and Dulo-Dulo (Palm stick). Balaraw is an interesting aspect of Panandata (weaponry) as it focuses on the use of every part of an edge weapon such a the punya (tip), Punyo (butt) as well as the edge (talim), blunt and side of the knife.
Doble Baston
Also referred to Double sticks, Doble Olisi, Dalawang Sandata ( 2 weapons), it simulates a system of 2 weapons of equal length. Training with double weapons develops ambidexterity and coordination between the 2 limbs.
Espada y Daga
Espada y Daga (sword and dagger) is a system that simulates the use of one Long and one short weapon as well as shield and weapon combinations and is unique to Filipino Martial Arts due to its combination of long and short weapon, which teaches the partitioner to transition from Long to mid or mid to short ranges and vice versa. This can be achieved by using footwork that can transcend all three ranges (largo, Medio, corto).
Mano y Mano
Mano y Mano often referred to as Empty Hand, Kamao (knuckles), Kuntao, or simply Mano represents the interpretation and adaptation of weapon techniques to empty hands.  The ability to convert or adapt or translate techniques from one type of weapon empty hand is another factor that makes Arnis unique.
Solo Baston
Solo Baston also called as solo olisi, simulates a combative system utilizing one Long weapon such as stick (for blunt weapon) and swords (for edged weapon) that focuses on the use of the weapon hand especially in Long range while it goes in tandem with the live hand (that is usually trained by Espada y Daga) for medium to close range.
